I studied Psychology at The University of Sheffield and completed my degree in 2018. During my degree, I chose modules which taught me about neurodevelopmental disorders and neurodiversity, which sparked my passion to learn more about this in a clinical setting.
Upon completion of my degree, I began working in roles focused on supporting individuals experiencing mental health and psychological difficulties. I worked as a Psychological Treatment Coordinator, and went on to work as a Support Worker for individuals with behavioural disorders following an acquired brain injury, and then for women with learning disabilities / complex mental health needs, who were victims of domestic abuse. Most recently, I worked as a Clinical Support Worker within an IAPT service, conducting telephone triages with patients. I found those roles extremely rewarding, and learnt a lot from colleagues and service users within the settings.
I feel passionate about helping young people access the help and support that they need, and understand how a diagnosis and a treatment plan, can have a positive impact on their lives.
