Lydia studied Psychology at the University of Surrey and completed her four-year undergraduate degree in 2019. In 2018, she successfully completed her third-year placement with the ATTACH Team, who provide long-term therapeutic support to Looked After Children and their families across Oxfordshire. The placement reaffirmed her eagerness to learn more about child psychology and therapeutic caregiving.
After graduation, Lydia spent time working at a nursery and as a Healthcare Assistant for adults on a mental health ward. Most recently, she worked as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant at a SEN School. She found the role to be incredibly fulfilling and learnt a lot from the young people, staff, and families at the school.
Lydia is passionate about ensuring that young peoples’ experiences and understandings play a key role in their diagnosis and treatment journeys.
In her spare time, Lydia loves reading fiction books, listening to podcasts and visiting National Trust parks.
