Dr Lisa Shaverin is a chartered clinical psychologist with over 12 years of clinical experience working with adolescents, adults and families. Lisa has a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and has also completed additional training in a range of different therapy approaches (including acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, psychoanalytic approaches and narrative therapy). She is accredited as a Systemic Practitioner with the Association of Family Therapy and as a Mentalisation Based Therapist with the British Psychoanalytic Council. This allows Lisa to work flexibly drawing on different therapy models according to your needs.
Lisa has experience working with people with a range of different difficulties but particularly enjoys supporting adolescents and young adults negotiate the transition into adulthood. She has expertise in working with people who have experienced trauma or who may struggle to manage intense emotions, difficult relationships and self harm. Lisa’s approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, curious and playful. Coming to therapy and talking about difficulties is not easy. Lisa believes strongly in the value and importance of developing a trusting relationship with your therapist through which you can explore how you understand your difficulties and feel empowered to think together about what you might do differently. Lisa is passionate about supporting the people she works with to develop and rediscover their own resourcefulness and strengths in order to enjoy living a more meaningful, rich and fulfilling life.
