Dr. Kim Wyatt Brooks

Dr. Kim Wyatt-Brooks is a chartered clinical psychologist with a passion for working with adolescents and young adults in community and inpatient settings.
Working in both the public and private sectors, Kim specialises in complex and high-risk cases. Most of her patients come with a wide variety of labels, including: personality disorders, attachment difficulties, PTSD, developmental trauma, eating disorders, autistic spectrum conditions, offending behaviours, bipolar, ADHD, and others.
In addition to direct clinical work, Kim provides supervision and training for professionals; and organisational consultancy for teams, systems, and organisations.
Kim is equally committed to working in the NHS, where she is the Clinical Lead for adolescent inpatients and intensive home treatment services in Kent. As an NHS senior manager, Kim is passionate about effective leadership, service development, and the health and well-being of staff.
Kim brings an enormous amount of warmth, passion, humour and creativity to her work. She also brings a lot of herself – believing that we grow and thrive in supportive relationships, when we feel cared for and understood.

Previous experience & qualifications:
Kim has over 12 years’ experience working in a range of settings, including: CAMHS, inpatient, neurodevelopment, neuropsychology, eating disorders, ‘wrap-around’ DBT, forensic, adult mental health, and social care (LAC & care-leavers).

Kim has a doctorate in clinical psychology (UCL), a master’s in psychodynamic psychotherapy (Goldsmiths Collage), she is a qualified systemic family practitioner (PGDip, Kings College London), and is currently completing a master’s in consulting and leading in organisations (Tavistock & Portman).
In addition to formal qualifications, Kim has extensive training and experience in a range of effective, evidence-based approaches, including: Mentalization Based Therapy (MBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Repossessing (EMDR).
